Why don't we try to respect one another.

In the games I watched I don't think they had any special teams.

Thanks oldster for the info. Sounds as if more than a few coaches will be waiting for a phone call from a number of teams.  Who gets Cowher if anybody?

I could see him as the Bills coach, however I would be shocked if he would  want the position in Washington.

Not psychic, just observative and logical.  There had to be a change.  People sometimes forget what a huge part of the game special teams are.  They are not the throw-away item for the pros that they are in high school.

Let's say you receive a punt or kick, have a 6 play drive and then kick a field goal, then kick off.  That is 3 of 9 plays that are special teams for only 3 points.  And a bunch of 3-and-out series take that percentage up even higher.

I agree with you and just about everyone else who watches that he should be gone.  I don't believe that they can compete in their own division without a fullback and a dominant running game.

It would be interesting to know what percentage of the sacks were caused by Ben holding on to it too long.  Yes, he makes some big polays that way, but I would like to see a knowledgeable evaluation of whether that is a net positive for them.

The DC had a far less productive year than the OC did.

I agree that the defense needs major help.  but producing a record-setting offense and not making the playoffs is a problem.  All three phases of the game were lacking.

It's been by observation with Ben; the line does break down at times, Ben gets sacked. At times Ben has no one open, a coverage sack.

But to me it's very glaring, the Manning's, the Brady's, some of you more elite QBs know when to throw the ball away. That's something Ben  seldom does, throw the ball away rather than to take a sack and avoid a possible injury.

The Steelers really missed Aaron Smith and Troy Polamalu.  They are that good.  However, they need to build the defense as if these guys are not going to be around all year....When they have been hurt, the defense suffers.
I think part of the blame for special teams falls on Tomlin.  He decided to get rid of some of the better special teamer because thats all they could really play.  He wanted guys who could play multiple positions.  We'll see what happens..

Rooney's cannot be happy with their performance.
