At least it ended in overtime and not a shootout(not the way to decide the Olympic gold medal-->Sweden in 98). Didn't see the OT period but the US had chances on Luongo all day.

Would they have gone to a shootout or would have they have went to an 11th End of Curling?

Gold Silver Bronze Total
1. United States 9 15 13 37
2. Germany 10 13 7 30
3. Canada 14 7 5 26
USA wins medal count, Canada makes late charge and wins Gold Medal count.
USA could not get second shots on goal....i thought they dominated play early, but needed to get more rebounds back at Luongo. Great Game though.

So the Canadians spent $117 million over 5 years on the "Own the Podium" Campaign to win the most medals.......they came up short to USA and the Germans......was it worth it??
The USOC has to be happy with winning the medal count for the first time in a long time.....
USA.....USA.....

I enjoyed watching the Olympics, but got kind of sickened by how Canada was being shoved down our throats at every possible moment. There wasn't a broadcaster that didn't utter "Those are Canadian Fans"...at least 100 times...like it wasn't a dead give away since they were wearing jerseys with big Maple Leafs on them and waving the Canadian Flag! And, the clincher at the closing ceremonies bringing out Michael J. Fox, who even he admitted he hasn't lived in Canada for more than 30 years! I don't recall any other host nation commercializing their country as much as Canada did...wonder if Britain or Russia will outdo them next?

How about the Coca Cola Olympics of 1996?
Could you imagine having to salute a giant leaf?

The Pittsburgh fans gave a nice ovation to USA goalie Ryan Miller last night........some say he got a louder ovation than Crosby......I salute the fans that were at the game last night.....
