We walked the Jim Mayer trail last weekend and there are waterfalls that can be seen from the trail.  Some site I read called them the "Buttermilk Falls."  There are also some impressive waterfalls up the Lorain Borough Nature Trail and I have heard them called the "Buttermilk Falls."  Are they both the "Buttermilk Falls"?

I have heard them both referred to as Buttermilk Falls. In fact, when I was a kid living in Moxham and someone would talk about Buttermilk Falls, I always had to ask which one they were talking about.

Is Wolf's rock still in Daiseytown or has it moved?

Wolf's Rocks exist at Laurel Mountain or Laurel Summit and also at Babcock.

I think the rocks in Cover Hill overlooking Johnstown are called Devil's Rock.

At least through the 70's, every kid (except for Lexi maybe) who grew up in Moxham, Belmont Homes, Highland Park and along and above Hogback Road, knew the falls coming off Belmont Hill as 'Buttermilk Falls.' I don't know what the kids growing up in Geistown called the Sam's Run falls, but here are shots of both of them. There are also Buttermilk Falls in Indiana and Westmoreland Counties. Robin, I think they're right down the road from where you work.

That's right.  We used to hike up there when we were kids.  It was pretty cool to see that old abandoned mine entrance buried up in there.

Thanx...after I wrote, the more I thought about it, thought I was probably wrong.

I never even knew about the Lorain Borough Trail until I worked with someone who grew up near there and told me about it.  The waterfall up there is amazing and is just down from the dropoff from Ohio Street.
