Noticed the "Fightin" Buccos have moved up in the Power Rankings.   They now are in the 29th spot, previously they were ranked 30th.  The Orioles currently have the prestigious rank of 30.

It is sad to see how far the Orioles have fallen and Angelos has actually spent a little more cash than Nutting(think Matt Weiters).

...not sure why the Bucco's would trade for a catcher who is a career .233 hitter, has some injury concerns and is making about $5 million/ year.....(chris snyder)

IMO Doumit is done behind the plate even though he says he isn't.  3 concussion type injuries in 6 weeks is a lot plus he has battled injuries throughout his career.  Don't want to see him end up like others who have had careers ended early by concussions but his overall health is more important.  There has to be some concern that his next one will end his career or he has been told he is done already behind the plate.  This could also be the end of Jaramillo in Pittsburgh as well.  Not sure why they sent him down but Kratz hasn't been too bad.

wow, i did not realize he had that many concussions......I really thought the Pirates should have unloaded him a long, long time ago....he could never stay in the lineup............the Pirates actually did quite good at the trade deadline, and now, the Snyder makes sense.....thanks tiger.

Remember when Cuban was interested in buying the Pirates? It's a freakin shame that they wouldn't sell it to him.

The Pittsburgh Mavericks?

Intersting that both Greenberg and Cuban have ties to Pittsburgh (who has Nutting) and both own teams in Dallas.

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is interested in buying his hometown Pittsburgh Pirates, but the ownership told him the team isn't for sale despite its ongoing streak of 13 consecutive losing seasons.

I'm under the impression that producing a winning season is simply not a goal of the ownership.
