"Brett Favre has informed the Minnesota Vikings he won't return for a second season, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press on Tuesday.

As always with the 40-year-old star quarterback, things could change. He's waffled before and may very well waffle again.

Favre called coach Brad Childress to say his injured left ankle is not responding as well to surgery and rehabilitation as he had hoped, the person told the AP on condition of anonymity because the team had not made an official announcement.

Favre was under contract for $13 million this season, but only if he plays.

Packers linebacker Nick Barnett said he didn't know whether to believe the latest news".

He sucked last night. He's beginning to embarrass himself on the field. He's an attention whore who isn't able to give up the spotlight. His dwindling arm strength is going to cost the Vikings games.

I can't imagine why he wouldn't finish the season, barring a serious injury.  I think that's a stretch to think so.

....with #84 in the picture, maybe he hangs in there............but, if the passing game does not improve and the losses mount, there would be nothing for #4 to play for........it's Super Bowl or nothing..........

.....will #4's consecutive game streak come to an end due to suspension??  sexual harrassment of a fellow employee.......heck #7 got 4 games for his actions.........maybe #4 hangs it up.....stay tuned.......
