Grabbed one today at the Southside Saloon.  There's your excuse to stop in there.

Nice addition to the area and I hope they keep this going.

Some things about the article on page 19 titled "So, you think you live in Johnstown?":

1.  Everyone in the area knows that there is the City of Johnstown and then there are the multitudes of surrounding municipalities (suburbs.)  The migration of people from the inner areas to the outer areas has been happening for a long time and not just in Johnstown - in most cities.  This does not make the people of Westmont, Richland, Ferndale, etc. any "less" Johnstown.  Keep in mind that the City of Johnstown has a population of 20,000 while the suburbs total somewhere around 50,000.  Those people are not, and know they are not, the "City of Johnstown" but they do consider themselves "Johnstown" and rightfully so.  The Post Office delivers my mail to Johnstown.  In places like Johnstown and Pittsburgh, the suburbs are a powerful part of the metropolitan area.  Take a look at the setup of New York City.  I agree that the City of Johnstown; namely, downtown, needs some substantial growth, but don't downplay what the suburbs provide to this area.  We are all Johnstown - in address and heart.

2.  The article says that "the illusion of the City of Johnstown as a growing metropolis is... propogates from ..."  Where did this come from?  I've never read anywhere that the City of Johnstown is a growing metropolis.  The City of Johnstown isn't even a metropolis, Johnstown in general is.  I've read that Johnstown already reached rock bottom and/or is rebounding.  We all see growth in Richland, Upper Yoder, etc. (metropolitan area), and some growth/changes in Downtown over the past decade, but who ever said that the City of Johnstown is growing?  We all see the population dwindling.  People are moving to the suburbs, they are moving out of the area and residential structures are being torn down every year.  Do a survey - go out and ask people if they think the City of Johnstown is a growing metropolis.  100% of people will say no.  There is no illusion.
