...I thought 'Tunch' made a good point today....He stated that skippy used to take pride of his ability of being successful kicking at Heinz Field.....and it appears his confidence or  'mental state of mind', is wavering by his comments concerning the condition of the field, fans, etc....he is making excuses......And his performance has not been good, the Steelers felt a change was needed......If skippy's thinking nothing but negative, it has to have an negative impact on his performance, no?

Skips been boozing to much. He is a head case. Feel sorry he used to be money.

You should have the opportunity change your preseason prediction, you had no way of knowing that they would cut their kicker when you predicted a 4-12 record.

They overachieved early otherwise I would be looking good right now.

The defense plays like little girls, so they fire the kicker. Great move.

They had a defense?Huh?

BREAKING NEWS......AP/Pittsburgh PA Steelers former field goal kicker Jeff Reed tried to commit suicide last night at his South Side residence.  When he attempted to kick out he chair, he missed.  Mr. Reed blames the manufacturer of the chair for using heavy wood, and the carpeting manufacturing for poor fiber quality, assuring the police and medics, missing was again, NOT his fault!

Skippy turned down a contract offer from the Cincinnati Bengals who lost kicker Mike Nugent with an ACL injury against Indy about a week and a half ago.  Told the Bungles he wanted to play for a playoff contending team.  What an attitude and hopefully he will sit the rest of the season now.

....skippy was 3-3 for the 49'ers........including his first from over 40 yards this season........

said skippy of Lambeau Field:

"It was a tough wind," skippy said. "I think certain times it was right behind you, a little bit right or left. Sometimes you'd approach the ball and it'd change and get right in your face. It's just the elements you have to deal with."

....wonder how he'll do when he returns to Baghdad by the Bay.......
