The Outback Bowl

So why did OldPa still keep his lousy QB in the game after he threw his 4th and 5th interceptions? Unbelievable. Now their blue-chip backup QB Bolden is transferring out of Happy Valley. Sure, Pitt football is in complete disarray but PSU isn't too far behind them either.

I guess the consolation for some is, they
almost
won.

That and we're not Pitt. Also, the fact that Paul Jones is still on the Penn State roster. Other than that.........

I can't imagine why anyone would find solace in a loss, but then again.....
And your correct, little ole Pitt is a city school. Thanks for the keen observation.

I'm glad that they still have Paul Jones because I forgot to mention that Kevin Newsome is likely to transfer out of Happy Valley as well.

.....Florida should have had 2 to 3 more interceptions easily.......McGloin was terrible..he could have racked up 7 or 8 INT's?
?....why not put Bolden in the game?
??.....very frustrating!! The Lions were leading late into the third quarter, they were outgaining Florida, but it is hard to overcome 5 INT's and a blocked Punt for a TD..........not sure what JoePa, Jaypa were thinking?........should be interesting if Scrap Iron is offered the Pitt job (i heard there is now interest in him)....he would probably take Big Red, Vanderlinen and i also hear Johnson may go to Maryland as DC.........What would JoePa do then? (WWJPD?) Who would become their assistants if JoePa is still HC??.......he may then retire and new regime is brought in.........I also hear that Mike Yancich, Mark Wedderburn, as well as Kevin Newsome and now Bolden may all leave.........I hope not.......bu there may be some interesting developments coming up........

Tom Bradley would be good but Russ Grimm would a better HC for Pitt.

I agree with you, they should have given the other guy a chance. Not to defend the coaches, but I imagine it's hard to take a QB out when you are winning. Or have a good chance to win. That being said, they should have given the kid a chance against Ohio State and/or Michigan State.
I highly doubt Bradley leaves for Pitt. I hear UConn wants him, too, and he has some ties there, his nephew went there over PSU. I think he stays put. Mike McQuery wouldn't be much of a loss. I really doubt LJ Jr. leaves, he was offered a fortune to go to Illinois before and passed. Wedderburn is leaving or being forced to, apparently he has a weight problem and just will never work out.
I think Bolden may realize he can't beat out Paul Jones next year. Apparently he is the real deal. I wouldn't be surprised if Bolden changes his mind. It's tough to transfer, especially to a Div 1 school. Has to sit out a year, etc.

Looks like OldPa is trying to get rid of any and all threats to his HC position at PSU.

See, did he really "tout" him. All he said was he was a good coach. That's true.

Why does OldPa have an opinion or interest in Pitt football anyhow? He should be concerned with PSU and the Big Ten, not with a former rival school that he hasn't played against in a decade. OldPa's hot seat would probably feel a little cooler if he could help run Bradley out of town.

Bradley should have been PSU's Head Coach for at least the past five years but he's been getting screwed over royally by OldPa's stubborness to read the writing on the nursing home wall.
