Roll Eyes  I don't believe that I said that being a good defensive coordinator prevents one from being a good head coach.  I said that it doesn't ensure it. 

Exactly.  Most Head Coaches were coaches at some level before, but they don't all work out.  Just like anything else in life, the individual is what makes the position functional.  The real mystery is why some teams spend several million to get the best coaches and best players but still never get over the hump, while teams that pay less and get less experience tend to get closer or win the Sterling Silver Football.  My opinion is that too many players and coaches want to be the reason for their triumph, no teamwork is displayed.
