They already have:

I'm not convinced that the NFL had much to do with the fiasco, but Texas Stadium (Jerry Jones) may have some defending to do.

The NFL hosted the Super Bowl, not Texas Stadium, the Dallas Cowboys or Jerry Jones.  It was the NFL's responsibility to ensure that all seating was up to code before it sold the tickets.

I can't see a court of law awarding them much more than the face value of the ticket.  I would take the deal instead of paying an extortionist (lawyer) to get me less.  Of course I would never pay $800 for a ticket to watch a game.

the price on one guys ticket from Cambria stated $300.  Like he said who knows who is going to be playing in next years game.

That said I would take the deal too, and then if my team wasn't in the super bowl hello scalper.

From my understanding those tickets that said $300 were for Standing-Room Only.  Not sure how or why he would get a deal on the tickets.  They also sold seats outside the stadium in which fans could watch the game in corrals on the big screens for $250 from what I had read last week.

As for RQH's quote the NFL sold those tickets with the understanding that the Cowboys would have those seats installed prior to the game.  Also this issue was known 3 weeks ago and possibly before.  The last Cowboy game was in December and Cotton Bowl was played January 11 so no one was in the building since then.  It is much like the temporary(now possibly permanent) bleachers that were added below the scoreboard at Heinz.  Also the weather should never have been a factor with them not getting done.  The NFL should of had the company installing the seats there in any way, shape or form.
