I can't wait to see his face when he sees the # of people that are going to turn out to help him celebrate.

I have been working on this for a month and the bill for the buffet might break my bank account but it is so worth it just to have him this long.

Love ya Dad and Happy Birthday.

It was awesome, he loved it.  My sister told him to wish for another 80 years when he blew out the candles and you should have seen the look he shot her: priceless.

I gave a little speech on how much he means to me, and what I have learned from him over the years.  Choking back tears the whole time.  I was told he misted up a bit too.

I know each day we still get him is such a blessing for us.  It was worth every penny and if he makes it another 5 I am gonna do it again.

That's a real nice story. Both of my parents died suddenly and unexpectedly so it's important to cherish each and every day that you have them around because things can change so quickly.

Offered with, well, not with empathy or sympathy, but, you know. Anyway, with respect.

Why don't we try to respect one another.

We once came home (From Nebraska) for my Mom's birthday. We did not tell her we were coming. We arrived on her birthday and went to my aunt's house for the surprise birthday party my aunt had planned. Mom got there and was upset when she saw many cars because she thought my aunt was having a party on her birthday without inviting her. She was not going to come in. My stepdad talked her into going in and when she came into the LR you could almost see the smoke coming from her ears.

It took a moment or two before she realized that my wife and I were there sitting on the sofa.

It was a precious time that almost backfired for us.  Grin
