So I was in Johnstown this past weekend for the first time since Christmas and was a bit shocked to see that Central Park is still decorated for the holidays. Is this some new tradition or are city employees just too busy to get to it?

Probably too busy supporting the union against the Wisconsin governor.

Probably an entire family of city employees reside there.

A couple weeks ago, Richland still had their stuff up on Scalp Avenue.  I keep forgetting to note if it's still up.  Maybe it makes Winter go faster.

Well, it should certainly deflect any criticism about government support for a religious observance.

I can understand Richland still having its up.  They only have a $6 million budget.  Johnstown, with a $30 million budget, has no excuse.

What is cheaper, the electricity for the lights or paying overtime to city employees that are overworked?  Grin I think you'll find your answer somewhere in between.

How much overtime to pull the plug?
Oh, yeah. In this town about $6000 worth.

One can only imagine what a first time visitor to Johnstown thinks to themselves when they see that.
You'd think that maybe the fine reporters at the Tribune Democrap would have done some kind of story on it by now too since it's right outside their office windows.

.......maybe they will insert all green lights for their St. Patrick's Day celebration......Does J-Town have a St. Patty's Day parade??  ...........maybe they can also put some food coloring into the rivers and then have a get together @ the Point Stadium for the 'dreaded Great Guiness Toast'............all the Catholic churches can provide their cafeteria workers to create a smorgasbord of corned beef and cabbage, Irish Stew, corned beef sandwiches, Irish Soda Bread, etc........hire a couple bands to perform also, charge $5.00 a head..............fun for the whole family...........

Think I saw a homeless person crawl out of one of those little houses the other day. Maybe they are renting them out for a small fee. You know, sort of like the parking meters.  Grin
