.....so is doomsday drawing near?  The earthquake appears to have moved Japan 8 feet and shifted the earth's axis.............Cooling systems at 3 of 4 nuclear reactors failed.........could there be a nuclear catastrophe?  The devastation is unbelievable!! Unbelievable!!! The United States is on its way to offer assistance.........Is the end near as predicted?? Will you continue to pay your mortgage?  Will you start to do all the things you always wanted to do?  Do we start saying our goodbye's now?  Should we party like its 1999??

God Bless and Good Luck to all the people affected by this disaster!1

Some pictures of the destruction!

For each and everyone of us the end of the world is near. For some us us probably nearer than for others. But, none of us really know it will happen.

As far as the entire world goes, I suspect that 2012 will bring no more total devastation than did Y2K.

Are you serious, they are saying that Japan shifted 8 feet?   That is a seduction fault ( where the oldest crust is sucked into the molten center of our core)  the fault on our side of that ocean is the creation crust.   Cool   I guess we should party like it is 1999 and you better get your bums right with the man upstairs you don't want to be on the wrong side of the him.

As usual test there has been a lot of things reported that are at best questionable.

Have you asked yourself what would American's do if one of our Nuke power plants was in the shape of Japan's.   If they evacuated that many people and then started handing out pills and telling us you will be OK.  What would the people of this nation do?  Would they like the folks in Japan just keep driving on and not moving, accepting what the government is telling them?  Or would we act in a much different fashion?

Living as close as we do to three mile island and having the scare we had years ago I think many would be packing their bags and getting the F out of dodge.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_thelookout/20110314/ts_yblog_thelookout/japans-earthquake-shifted-balance-of-the-planet

The world's fifth-largest, 8.9 magnitude quake was caused when the Pacific tectonic plate dove under the North American plate, which shifted Eastern Japan towards North America by about 13 feet (see NASA's before and after photos at right). The quake also shifted the earth's axis by 6.5 inches, shortened the day by 1.6 microseconds, and sank Japan downward by about two feet. As Japan's eastern coastline sunk, the tsunami's waves rolled in.

Hurricane Katrina, Haitian earthquake, Indonesian Tsunami, Japan's triple whammy, Chilean earthquake, etc. Can anyone remember in their lifetime so many devastating natural disasters in such a short period of time? I can't.

China owns the top natural disasters.

56,000 dead in the 2010 Russian heat waves, who knew?

I think part of that is that we did not have access to all of the reports in the old days.

Whatever happens, if I wake up the next morning, I'll have to figure a way to feed myself. If I don't wake up, hallelujah!

Um, none?

"A variety of studies have been unable to conclude that the accident had substantial health effects."
