 I was asked to audition for an ABBA tribute band!    Sad

 Don't get me wrong, ABBA is great music, just not my style or genre, I had thought as a performer I had presented a bit gutsier, harder edge................

I think you should do it because you never know, you might just end up fronting the real Abba someday just like Marky Mark did with Steel Dragon.

The Rock says that a little known fact about that movie is that part of it was actually filmed right here in Johnstown.

"In 2000, major film Rock Star, starring Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston. It is directed by Stephen Herek. It was shot almost entirely in and around Los Angeles, part of the film takes place in Pittsburgh and several scenes including the opening scene was filmed in Johnstown."

Well, at least they're not contemporaries of mine, not sure how many others here can say that...............my knowledge of them comes from my exploration of my father's music collection, which is part of how I remember and memorialize him.
In true chip of the old block fashoin< abba didn"t really fit< yet he had them right there in the midst of his favored genre< which was glam rock_ and as i said figured if i was ever to be considered to be  in a tribute band it would be more in the vein of Heart

but, anyway, ABBA was  light pop rock, and they were HUGE, I mean HUGE in terms of popularity and sales.
