I read quite a bit myself...I have a Nook and usually have 2 or 3 books down loaded waiting for me to read.  I'll have to keep this in mind.

With the Pirates playing so well recently I haven't had time to read lately.  Am currently reading "Theodore Rex" by Edmund Morris.  We need a Theodore Rex today.

I've been doing a lot of light reading this summer. I just recently finished up The Poisonwood Bible and PEN/O. Henry Prize Stories 2011. I'm currently plodding through Lacuna, but I'm unlikely to finish it before it's due back at the library on the 15th. I need to compile a new book wish list.

The Poisonwood Bible was enjoyable. I really liked the research that the author did on the history and culture of the Congo. The most powerful book I read this year was probably Bastard out of Carolina. I also read Deliverance this year, since I never saw the movie. The book was fantastic. I also read The Road. With that one, I did see the movie first, but was surprised to see that movie followed the book nearly to the letter. That's just a few off the top of my head.

In the non-fiction section I picked up The Little Red Book, which I loved the idea of. It may or may not make interesting reading for men though. I never did finish A People's History of the United States. I'll have to buy it to finish it. Also in the non fiction category was Battle Hymn of a Tiger Mother. The woman who wrote that book is a piece of work. It's amazing what some people will do to make sure their children succeed.
