Bocephus stated that on American TV, not on a stage in a foreign country. This is America and I think many missed the point he was trying to make because they were to busy jumping to conclusions of their own desire.

I think he has a point to a certain degree, I don't remember any other President since I have been around telling Congress that they HAVE TO PASS so many things without even reading them first. If Obama could get away with bypassing congress he would believe me look at how many times he has already done it.

I think only on fools, idiots and the media. There are some individual thinkers out there that don't fall prey to such meaningless games as that.

True freedom of speech to me means being able to say or think whatever you want without consequences. I've found that politically correct people are generally the most phony people in this country.

As far as I'm concerned, we have become too politically correct in this country, only to appease the "few". Hank said, what a lot of people are thinking.

You're 100% correct. It's just a matter of time before TVLand starts pulling all of those old episodes of All in the Family from the airwaves for being too offensive for today's Progressives.

Perhaps a better twosome on the golf course comparison would have been Big Ben and Ray Lewis. Bocephus gets paid to sing a song before a football game not provide political commentary. When you comaper the president to this guy
you run the risk on not getting paid anymore. However, he will be free to explain all of his political philosophies 0for as long as he wants this 15 minutes of fame to last.
p.s he didn't uncover a solution for world peace with his statement, let's not overrate what he said as being prolific.

But that's not what he was thinking at the time so why should he be a phony and change his analogy?

It would have been more PC to use that comparison, I agree with DVE all he did was say what many, many are thinking. Most don't say anything for fear of being tagged a racist when race has nothing to do with it.
I don't see anyone crying outrage because they have compared others to Hitler in the past and they will again in the future just watch a little MSNBC and give them a day they will compare some right leaner to Hitler. Don't dish it if you can't take it, and don't whine about what got dished.

I agree. That is why I compared his situation to that of Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks who famously dissed President Bush. Both are entitled to do so, but both must also be willing to accept the financial repercussions of their statements. Freedom of speech means freedom from legal consequences, not the consequences of the folks who provide your source of income. Hank will have many supporters and fans who continue to support him, he will gain some supporters who don't care one way or the other for his music, and he might lose some visibility from his gig with ESPN. I don't imagine that he cares about losing that gig, and he may be financially better off for it since so many will agree with him.
As an aside, I think that his comment about nobody caring for the little people is right on the money. I don't think that calling the President and Vice President the enemy is any better than Biden referring to Tea Party Members of Congress terrorists. Both are wrong in my eyes.
