http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44850577/ns=politics-decision_2012Thus far he has done better at keeping his foot out of his mouth than the other challengers to Romney's tenuous lead. With Tea Party support, conservative support, and the reality of dividing the black vote he could be the best option for unseating Obama. But, it's still early.

I think his support grows because he calls them like he see them. If he doesn't know the answer he doesn't make up some bullshit to take the place of the answer he just tells you he doesn't know it. Quite refreshing if you ask me, at least he admits he doesn't know everything unlike every other person running for office these days.

I think his popularity is growing because those on the right are learning that mitt is not going to beat our current president so they have to back the black man if they want the white house back.

I think you just made a racist statement there. I think Cain could be any color as long as he speaks as he does now he would still be moving ahead.

I call them as I see them plan and simple. To say that the GOP is only backing Cain because he is black is a false statement. I think his plan if left at the numbers he has quoted would be great for our system. It would cut all loopholes, do away with refunds and everyone who earns money and consumes any type of goods would be taxed. The lower rate on corporations would maybe encourage them to not be afraid to spend the money they are currently setting on cause they are not sure which way things are going to go. They just laid off people at my work due to a slow down in orders for stuff we make. Now some of that is seasonal but some of that comes from competition that doesn't reside inside US borders as well. The draw backs to his plan is are the states going to continue their rate of sales tax on things? Can we get it in writing that these numbers won't change for so many years so we can all have time to adjust? If states continue their sales taxes then I can see quite a few states lossing some serious population and others that will be gaining population. I know I ain't gonna pay 15% for things I buy with the combined sales taxes and I don't know many people who would.

i would eliminate corporate tax for any company that used a domestic work force and USA made materials. Big box mart that sold mostly junk from china would pay at a rate based on how much imports they sold. Pretty simple solution for those who are afraid to hire because of the tax code. Even as a democrat i never thought the corporate tax was a good idea as they just pass it on to you and I. As far as you calling me a racist, if cane was white you would hold him in the same light as ron paul.

Yes I would, I don't care what his skin color is, hell he could be a muslim and if I thought he was the man/woman that would follow the constitution and keep the government in control I would vote for him. I don't think the current tax code is what has the business world in fear I think it is the attitude and possible regulations that are to come and not knowing where they really stand other than if they don't go green they are to be hated by all. Why should a business go green when most of the public isn't screaming for it just the government? More of the nanny state and we as the people can't let this continue or we will all be poorer than the most poor are now in this nation.

I believe that Cain's tax plan is a tax increase, and especially on middle and lower income folks.
The 9% sales tax looks like the Value Added Tax that many European nations use.
I believe that the 9% sales tax could hurt consumer purchases and that the elimination of mortgage interest tax credit could hurt the housing industry. Those two things are big drivers of the economy.
It will be interesting to see if his 9-9-9 gains traction or suffers in the light of day.
