Now get our soldiers out of the other mid east nation and maybe everyone can be happy about that.

Why don't we try to respect one another.

Unfortunately what will happen is that good people will be eliminated from the military ranks in a series of force reductions.

Thanks for you service and three of four tours in the war, but we don't need you anymore.

There goes the 9% unemployment, we will have a official depression if they throw them out of the military.

Bring them home then place them at the Mexican border. That should keep all of them employed full-time until the age of 65.

Just let them stay there (The Mexican Border) until their retirement. They have earned that by the sacrifices they have made on our behalf.

I'd rather see my tax dollars protecting the border (s) than having troops in every third world country dodging RPG's and IEDs.

Agree, earn their money and retirement @ the border.

Only problem is some *&^% court would make it illegal.

AND the troops might consider it a punishment!

Hard to say Red,  perhaps a static position would get rather dry.  But IMO these troops would be just as important as our current foreign security.

Oh, I do agree.

I just know how the troops get treated after the fighting is over.

We could ease the boredom by sending a squad into Mexico with our tourists to protect them from the drug cartels who think they are something great because they can have their way with unarmed tourists.

I like that idea Red or maybe turn on the tracking devices in the guns that were sold to them and let them go and get them with no witnesses left to talk.  That should help relieve some of the PTSD some of them will suffer from.

Why dont you call the employment of military personnel a part of the socialist program? Throw them out?? if your boss was done with a certian job and didn't need you any more then he would lay you off.

How many times has you boss sent you into enemy fire? How many times has you boss said leave your family and go to some isolated place to do your daily job? How many times were you told to pack up and leave in the next four hours?

We ask everything with the promise of a 20 year retirement, then when the troops respond and do all of this we say. Forget our promise - goodbye.

Military service is not like a civilian job. You can not say no. You can not tell you boss to go to Hell. You can not just say I quit.

No, beefman it is not a civilian job and those who sacrifice deserve to have the promises we give them honored because they have paid the price and earned that promise.
