That old dude did what I am SURE many of us feel like doing, sometimes... we just have the sense not to.

BUT, if I were the mom, I would have smashed him with something.

Old man, frustrated, I would have kicked him in his knee drove it backwards and broke it.  He would have been there when the cops arrived.  Gotta let it roll off your back, react appropriately, keep emotions in check, deal the blow.  Done and gone.   Wink

Even though I don't have any kids, I agree with all of the above.

The picture they show of him it looks like he's constipated. Maybe if he would have just found the aisle with the Metamucil in it and took care of his problem, he wouldn't have had to take his frustration out on a two year old. Grin

But seriously, this man has problems. I wouldn't even strike any of my own children at the age of two for crying, let alone a strangers child. I think all of us parents know especially around the "Terrible Two" age, sometimes there's nothing you can do to keep a child from crying.

True gone and there is no negotiating with a child so young.   I had to remove my son from Burger King one day when he had a meltdown over the toy in the bag.  It wasn't the one he thought he should have gotten.  So after he collapsed on the floor in his meltdown I had to remove him before he gave anyone else a headache.
