Nothing new happening here. Employer sponsored health care was 69.0 percent in 2000 and fell to 66.0 percent in 2003 and then to 60.0 percent by 2005. And then, according to the numbers by the Gallup poll, it fell another 12% between 2005 and 2008 to reach a new low of 48%.
During this time, employer premiums went from an average of $4,248 per employee family in 2000 to $8,167 by 2005 and by 2009 were $13,027. That's a 207% increase in less than 10 years.
Watch them as the soar now it what health care did in 10 they will do in 2 or 3 here real soon. They gave a nice raise across the board at my job but it was soon realized that the raise was given because of the increase our health care costs took, in reality no one received a raise, our wages actually took a dip because of health care costs. If this is the price of having the best health care system in the world I want to opt out and take my chances the old fashioned way.
