Super Committee

Does this:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/politics/sns-rt-us-usa-debt-supercommitteetre7ac0ls-20111113,0,6019953.story
"To have something on the table that does not ask the wealthiest people in the country to share (the burden) ... is unconscionable," said Senator John Kerry, a Democrat on the committee.
Equal this:
http://nlpc.org/stories/2010/07/29/john-kerry%e2%80%99s-yacht-another-tax-rich-republicans
Keeping the boat stashed out-of-state saved Kerry more than $500,000, including "$440,000 in Massachusetts sales taxes and $70,000 in annual excise taxes." However, the Department of Revenue had begun investigating claims the sloop had been seen off the Nantucket coast.

Just our luck, it's one of the few things that they're truly bipartisan about

You said something that the Tea Party agrees with you should probably kill yourself now cause you are leaning right a bit.

Haven't we kinda known this for awhile now? Kerry made money on insider trading deals, but because he is a member of congress he is free and clean to do such a thing. I think you have to be a hypocrite to be a politician which is why we should stop voting for them and vote for the guy with no political experience, who knows the Constitution and the people might finally win one for a change.

I think we sometimes get so wrapped up in the pageantry that we fail to look at the real people who are in the race. We tend to be attracted to the bright smile and unrealistic pledges much like we did when voting for high school class president. Our elections have become a very real, and very dangerous, version of American Idol.

Don't forget party lines to many American's just go in there and check that straight ticket box with no thought as to the people who are actually on the ticket. It amazes me how many people don't keep an open mind when voting for the leadership of the nation whether it be local or federal.

That's also why this committee is destined to fail. If you can't get an agreement out of 535 people what makes us believe that 12 very partisan people will make any headway. It was a scam from the get go to make the wanted cuts based on the known fact that the group will not succeed and giving both parties the ammo to say that the other party is against something treasured, allowing the great uniter to further dividing us.

Well they will make it not worth serving in the military on a volunteer basis. I really feel bad for all the Vets that are gonna come back all screwed up and there won't be a health care service just for them. I wonder if murders will rise? Maybe suicides will go up for Vets? Will it really be worth it to those that don't feel the call to serve?
I think instead of cutting the veterans health care it should be congress's that is cut completely out. That should save us a bundle on all those that are now out of office and still using the system cause they get life time benefits.

The thing about the supercommittee that surprizes me is that none of them came forward to to talk about things that were kicked around in the meetings.
I've been doing some research for a project that I'm working on. The committe was looking to create 1.2 trillion bucks - either in cuts or increased revenue.
I've found that an "easy way" to do that is also probably the best way to do that. 3 things are a real drag and drain on America.
1. Right now America is in the grips of a costly and devastating epidemic that threatens the future of our republic: OBESITY. and its related diseases. Heart Attack, Stroke, Diabetes, Hypertension, Arthritis, and cancer. Government, social security, business, insurance companys, and private individuals spend 1.1 trillion a year fighting obesity and related diseases. Fat America is angry because the government doesn't have the money to do what they were elected to do. BECAUSE THEY SPEND 1.1 TRILLION A YEAR TRYING TO SAVE AMERICANS FROM THEIR FAT SELVES.
2. WAR COST US 900 BILLION A YEAR. We could easily save 300 billion a year if we could get out of the wars.
3. Create a common sense marajuana policy. We could save 200 billion a year if marajuana was legalized and farmers could grow hemp, and we could have a hemp by-products industry. It cost 30k to keep a marajuana offender in jail. To say nothing of the cost of investigation, arrest and prosecution.
If we concentrate on fighting obesity, ending the wars, and create a common sense marajuana policy, we could save and earn an estimated 1.5 trillion a year. We could pay off the 15 trillion dollar national debt in 10 years. And we'd be a healthier nation. Plus, it would save social sceurity.
To me, or anyone else, it is simple and logical. But to politicans.........

J-man's meds kicked in he lost his train of thought.
Obesity is that persons problem it should not be the problem of the state or federal government. If people want to be fat then they all have that choice in life.
I think the entire nation except the politican's have wanted out of the wars now for a long time and we were took kicking and screaming into Libya and Yemen.
Nothing surprised me about the super committee except their lack of being able to take a sacrifice first before touching any other program. They ask the military people to do just that and they can't and won't even do it themselves so much for public servant maybe we should change that to self serving ass-holes.

Millions are on SSD for obesity related disease. The poor, underinsured, and uninsured are covered by the gov.and medicaid, medicare, welfare, SSd and so on.
Lost productivity due to absenteeism and presenteeism cost billions a year more. Insurance companys have to raise rates to cover obesity related health problems. The major caues of disabilty are ALL obesity related diseaes. Heart disease is the #1 killer. Stroke is on the increase, hypertension, arthritis is the #1 reason for disability, Many cancers are caused by obesity. Diabetes is epidemic. The local, state, and federal governemnt spend almost 34 per cent of the GNP on obesity related disease. Uncle sam spends 1.1 trillion for health care, social security is almost bankrupt specifically because 50 million americans get social security disability, - most because of obesity related disease. Private insurance is almost unaffordable because insurance raises rates for employers to cover obes and overweight employees. Fat people are less productive in the workplace.
Obesity is THE MOST COSTLY AND DEVASTATING EPIDEMIC IN AMERICAN HISTORY. EVEN A PLAGUE COULD NOT DO SUCH DAMAGE TO OUR HEALTH AND ECONOMY. WE HAVE SAFEGUARDS IN PLACE TO STOP A PLAGUE.
Fact is, if we do the three things i pointed out, we can save 1.5 trillion a year and pay off all our debt in 10 years. But that would require the American peoples help- actually, they'd only have to change their eating habits a little and lose some weight. And exercize a little. BUT THEY'D RATHER BLAME THE GOVERNMENT FOR THE PROBLEMS. THE PROBLEM IS CREATED BY THE BEHAVIOR OF THE PEOPLE. THE GOVERNMENT CAN'T DO THE JOB THEY WERE ELECTED TO DO BECAUSE THEY SPEND TOO MUCH MONEY WIPING THE ASS OF ALL THE FAT LAZY PEOPLE. GO RUN AROUND THE BLOCK WEINER! YOUR SPARE TIRE IS STICKIN OUT!

Aging isn't a disease. Obesity is. AND OBESE PEOPLE USUALLY DON'T LIVE LONG ENOUGH TO DIE NATURALLY.!
