The colts release or trade Peyton Manning, and he ends up in New York backing up his brother Eli over the next few years.

But, you may have a hard time collecting your bet.  BTW...I would take the bet too.

I accept those bets. We'll know by March 8th when the Colts have to pay him about 37 million or release him. I'll be in Johnstown in the spring. I just hope yoyo , DVE, and cowboyblue aren't welchers. If I'm wrong, I'll pay up. I'd like to get all 3 dozen wings on the same night as I'll have company. We'll know who won by March 8th - unless colts and manning extend the timeline. Then it will be the new timeline.
Manning could make 5m a year coaching his little brother from the sideline, and still have a chance to play some. His neck is serious business because he lost strength in his throwing arm, and has nerve damage. His brother Cooper had to quit football in high school for the same injury. I think going to the Giants would be ideal for Peyton becsause he could help his brother, be on a contending team, get some playing time without too much risk, make some good money, and still be around the game and play a competitive role.
There is no guarantee he can even play in 2012 because the nerve still hasn't regenerated yet. And his arm is still weak.

As a Giant, he would only play if Eli got hurt and had to miss some playing time. not much risk there. nobody is going to pay Peyton 10 or 15 or 20 million to start if he can barely pass a physical.

On the other hand, if the nerve is still damaged by training camp, he may just retire - he will be 36. But! As a backup, he can stay in the game and let it heal. Backups almost always get some playing time. He's at an age where starting isn't in his best interest. Nobody has said or written anything about this yet that I know of, but it just makes such perfect sense.

I talked to Murphys. They have gift certificates. If Peyton ain't a Giant by NFL draft end, I'll send a $50.00 bill to murphys with the names yoyo, wdve, and cowboyblue on a note. All you'll have to do is go in and say your name and they will give you your gift certificate for 12 wings plus a bottle of beer. 3 dozen wings cost 40.07 there now. I remember buying a dozen for under $6.00 when faranda had the joint.
But then, i remember buying coney dogs for about .25 cents. I'll take on two more betters if theres any takers.

If you honor your bet and want to pay me, you can just send the gift certificate to p.o. box 701 rapid city, s.d. 57709

The colts aren't going to pay Peyton 37 million by march 8th because he can barely throw now. Nobody would risk their year with him as a starter. the only chance he has of playing again is as a backup. I'm betting he is close enough to Eli to want to pay backup to him.

I have a feeling that on march 8th, 9th and 10th pbal will be doing his best yoyo, wdve, and cowboyblue impersonations respectively at Murphys.

I wouldn't put it past him. Mr.J would be a likely co- conspirator. Maybe if i lose, you guys can send me a private message with whatever name you want to redeeem your wings.
