Agree and I hope Sandusky rots in hell. Never was a PSU  guy but JP did deserve more than to go out this way. Thats why he should have got out while the going was good. Still could have been a big part of PSU.

My guess is he would have hung it up years ago but knew that this scandal was going to surface and he should be the one in charge when it did.  If I'm right it may have been his classiest act.

And no, I was never a fan of his either.

Both Paterno and Bear Bryant's final game was a come from behind victory over Illinois.
Both games resulted in the record for most wins in Division 1.
Bryant died shortly after Penn State won a national championship.
Paterno died shortly after Alabama won a national championship.
And of course, they both died shortly after leaving coaching, Bryant on January 26, Joe on January 22

That tells me they both loved what they did and did it until they couldn't do it anymore.  If we could all be so lucky in life.
