I know an ordained minister that wears tie die T shirts and rides a motorcycle. As a matter of fact he rides with us. How do we know what Jesus looked like? The bible never describes his physical features. The only thing the bible says about it is this: "He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him. To me it's not  how a person dresses in this instance but how they act! If they are preaching from the Bible as well following the laws of the Bible then it really does not matter. This preacher may be able to reach a different audience as well. Everything is for a reason.

My next door neighbor is a preacherman, young just out of the Bible thumping school.  He and his very young wife have a motorcycle, they wear jeans.   A group of churches owns the house beside ours and their preacher lives there, they get a new one every three years.  We have been here through three now, all were very nice folks.  Mostly kept to themselves.  The first was a single fellow, older, had some great stuff at his yardsale before he moved away.  He appreciated really good baking. Grin

Next one was a younger couple with two kids, very nice.  He was outgoing and very chatty, she was the church mouse.  He was restoring an old pickup truck he got from an Uncle.  And he had an old Duster that was his first car that he was restoring next.  That man was so busy all the time, I don't know when he had time to be a Dad, but he would find it.  Really super nice folks.

Now we have the Motorcycle Preacher we call him.  Three very different Men, preached at the same churches.  It is amazing the different packages we all come in, could you get a bigger variety?

myself, i preach every sunday morning at a small country church (30 or so members) where i only go on sunday mornings, and part-time at the congregation of which i am a member (80 or so attendance)...

i ride a motorcycle (triumph sportbike... "crotch rocket") and have been to a dozen grateful dead concerts.

in my younger days (not now), i was probably what you would call a "hippie" and i partook of everything that went with that lifestyle.

A Methodist Minister friend of mine used to visit my hobby garage and help me with various car projects.  He was a motorhead like me and usually didn't leave until after three or four beers.  (The good Rev. Glenn lived two doors away.)  That guy could lay-down a coat of paint too!
