Someone posted last year on the other site about a overlook on 56 for viewing fall foilage, does anyone know how to get there? I tried last year but couldn't find it. I thought if you were heading towards Ogletown you made a left but don't remember were at. I thought it was a state forest road though.

Just past Ogletown, make a left on, I think, New Buffalo Road (it's 'something' Buffalo road) - beat up dirt road. Go a few miles to the end make a right and there you are.
I'll try & post some phots after work.

Then there's this view from Haws Pike:

pbal, is that the road that Pine Lake is on or is it a different one?

Another nice viewing a little farther away is on I-70 between Breezewood and Hancock on the mountain part of the road where you can look down into the valley is absolutely beautiful when all the leaves have changed.

As usual, pbal, beautiful pic. Smiley

Pine Lake is on Hollow Road, straight out of O-town. The overlook is just off the intersection of Buffalo & Skyline.
On the map, the old Buffalo Road linking Hollow & New Buffalo isn't really there. It's abandoned and grown over.
Also, the short spur out of Ogletown linking 56 & New Buffalo isn't there either.

another great place to view spectacular foilage is blue knob state park, what a great place to walk, if you want to see a great view go to the ski resort and view from the chair lifts
