And we're only playing game two of the league championship series.

On October 17, 1989 the start of game 3 of the World Series was postponed due to the sudden shifting of the earth.

I remember the broadcast of that game.  Players were confused as to what was happening is my recollection.

Baseball season runs too long, too many games, I think.  If they are going to have playoff games and the World Series in the cities of the teams (which I agree with) they set themselves up for horrible conditions.  IMHO the World Series should be over by now.  Can you imagine if there had been a game in Boston yesterday?

In 1979 Game One was postponed due to rain.  It snowed in Baltimore the morning of Game Two.  Game time temperature was 41.  For Game Two it was 46.  It also snowed in Pittsburgh.  By game seven the game time temperature was 65.  The weather is hit or miss.  Is the season too long though?  I would say if they must have four teams make the playoffs from each league, yes, the season is a week too long.  But, it doesn't help that the networks now control the scheduling.  There are too many off days built into the playoffs.

Minnesota will play in an outdoor ballpark starting next season.

Before networks were such a force in sports, most of the bb playoffs were in the afternoon. Also the wild card adds to more games.

Hey it could be worse..................h ockey.........playing into June w/ a short off season. I don't have a problem with them playing into October. That's why we have Mr. October. Cheesy
