well the forum may be gone,I just saw they have added a "comment"section .after each article.
I hate to break the news to the tribune, but that was a stupid thing to do. Our online paper has that
and it gets so nasty...they should of just kept the forum.. Roll Eyes

Well we should stay away from their commments section, that way they can't blame us.  I can hear it now those forum scum are ruining our comments section.   Wink

I tried submitting a comment and it never showed up anyway. Either they plan on screening all the comments before they are published (oooh! what a free speech venue that will be, eh?) or the comments feature isn't working yet.

some days I actually agreed with psu as his heart and passion for making the city better was in the right place--just maybe not his execution!  As for guess, I used to enjoy reading his stuff, but over time I wasn't sure where he was coming from..... Huh Huh  If anyone here remembers he had some really good, thoughtful and intelligent posts in the beginning.....

Then I think maybe he just ran out of sidewalk. I did think it was funny when he'd answer the running out of sidewalk in a lot posts.

I liked reading both PSU and guesswhoiwas posts.

I didn't mind either of them, PSU got slammed as being a complainer, but then again so did I. And as for Guess, all is well as he would say! They both at least had something intelligent to say, and could hold a conversation, unlike a certain few socks, that I won't mention.

The new feature the TD offers is the same as we have in NC without the censorship! One would think if you are going to censor what is written that you would not post any of it ... no, they block out what they feel might be offensive to someone. Talk about a violation of rights!

I don't plan on adding any more comments to the Tribune Democrat's website on principal alone. The comment I added was just a "test" comment because I wanted to see if it was instantaneous or if it was being monitored. I'm certain that it won't be published. Just as I am certain that they can willfully omit any other comments that they find to be too inflammatory. No thank you.

I miss both Guess and PSU. I hope they decide to show up.

Lexi, what is a locked topic...  or a sticky topic? Is that something the person creating the thread decides?

Only administrators can create sticky topics I think. A sticky topic is one that will always appear at the top of the forum it is posted in. But from appearances, anyone can lock a topic, which will prevent new posts from being added. That is a feature that will probably need to be removed in the future.

Another forum I frequent, sticky topics are used for announcements.
